Lent, pt. 32

Who am I?

What is my identity?

Christ living in me is who I really am.

I am not defined by…

clothes.

jobs.

relationships.

dollars.

jokes.

appearances.

My life is found only in Jesus.

These thoughts of identity have been circling in my mind all day.

Jesus is my identity.

Who are you?

Lent, pt. 27

Happy April Fools’ Day!

To this day, I still don’t know why it is named April Fools’ Day. Probably never will.

Fools’ Day.

Are you a fool? Am I?

Psalm 14:1 says, “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.'”

fool

I don’t know about you but I never want that to be a description of my life.

I think there is a God. This same God loves me. Loves me in such a way that I am compelled to live for Him.

I know I can’t earn this affection from Him. I just need to accept it.

Take stock of your life right now. Let His love fill your heart. He wants to be near you.

Will you be foolish and ignore Him?

I hope not. If you have been turning your back on God, no worries. He gives more grace.

But more about that tomorrow.

Lent, pt. 23

Science is cool. I mean, really cool.

science is cool

Science tells me…

  • that there are 206 bones in an average adult human.
  • that if you put all the blood vessels in your body end to end, it would circle the        equator over 4 times!
  • that oxygen and hydrogen are two of the most flammable elements found in nature but when combined, they form water.

Shall I continue?

And God made it all.

He is responsible. The more I learn about the world above me, below me, around me, and even in me, I like God more.

Yep. He did all of it and I think He is awesome.

We got our taxes back today.

We have to pay in this year.

tax payment

I don’t really like to pay taxes.

I’d rather give that money to church.

It just makes me remember that God is in control.

He will take care of my needs.

My wife and I are faithful to tithe.

God will take care of the rest.

Amen.
