Lent, pt.10

I reached a milestone this week.

This blog has 101 followers! Thank you!

I feel like God has given me something to say. Twominuteswithtim.com is the outlet.

If you want to get a glimpse into the beginning of this blog, you can check out my early posts starting from 2014. If you time some of them, they probably go longer than two minutes though!

May this Lent season hold milestones for you.

Whether it be work related or family oriented, I hope that God does something fantastic in you. May 2019 be a milestone year for you!!!

Again, thank you for following these ramblings of mine. You give me encouragement everyday.

God bless you.

AB+ and 44

Today is my birthday. It was a pretty decent day. I had some great family time. Work was enjoyable. Had lunch with my wife which is rare so that was pretty awesome.

Now I am writing this blog. I have not written since late July. Taking time off was planned but not this much time. This blog has been good for me. It helps me to process what I read in God’s word and what I hear God telling me.

Back to the birthday. I am 44 today. Is that middle-age? Whatever 44 is called, so be it.

My life began 44 years ago. At some point, I became born again. For me, there is not a specific date that I can call my “spiritual” birthday. But I know it has happened. On that day, the blood of Jesus washed my sins away.

The blood of Jesus is an interesting thing. Somewhat morbid if you ask me. And then the bible says that though my sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. How can blood do this? What is so important about the blood that Jesus spilled while hanging on the cross? How can I be forgiven? More about this in upcoming blogs.

My blood type is AB+. In my adulthood, I have donated about 3 gallons. Take a look at this chart.

According to the chart, only AB+ people can receive my blood. On the other hand, I can receive from any type. Good deal for me.

Again, according to the chart, Jesus must have been O- because anyone can receive His blood.

He is the universal donor. Because today is my birthday, I have been thinking a lot about my life and all the it encompasses.

Of this I am sure: Jesus is my life. His blood purifies me from sin. His blood gives me victory over sin. His blood empowers to live like He wants me to live.

As I stated, I will explore the Blood over the next few posts.

Can I leave you with two questions though?

Do you remember your spiritual birthday?

If not, would you like to have one?

Why do I blog?

Good morning friends. Two questions for today. I will answer the first one for you.

Why do I blog?

Why Blog Concept

People have asked me that before and my answers have not always been consistent. I have been blogging for two years now. In 2016, my schedule has been one post every week. Now I have a solid answer for that question.

The answer actually comes in a few parts so I hope you don’t mind if I outline them. It helps me to communicate better. =-)

B – Bible Dissemination – I love the Bible. It is God’s written word to us. More people would come to Jesus if they heard the Word more. I am trying to help that process.

L – Learn More – I love to learn. And, I love to to teach. If I learn something and/or my readers learn something, I feel like that is a success.

O – Obey God – I  love God. God told me to write. Read the posts in My Haiti Experience to get the whole story. God said to write so here I am, writing!

G- Give Encouragement – I love to preach. In most of my posts, I try to encourage people. I trust that people do have hope when they are finished reading.

If you read, like, comment, repost, or just tell people about me, thank you.

I am thoroughly enjoying this journey.

And who knows, this could just be the best two minutes of your day. =-)

2minutes

Second Question: Why do you read this blog?

120 seconds

If you are reading this, I have about 116 more seconds to set the hook. Being my first attempt at blogging, I sure would like to catch something. The irony of this is that I don’t really like to fish. But if you are interested in hearing about a man-eating fish, keep reading.

Maybe golf or other sports will peak your interest, I won’t let you down. Since I love to play, I will also enjoy writing about it. Like the time I played college basketball…

Do you use bad words? I have and I want to write about them sometime.

Have you ever traveled to another country? I have and between the earthquake and the interesting currency, it was unforgettable.

What about God? I am not talking of a god within you but God, as in the God who created this whole amazing universe. There will certainly be stuff about Him as well.

And the book that He gave to us, the Bible, will be scattered in and through everything that I write as well. It is absolutely mind-blowing how one book can contain helpful and insightful information about ANYTHING that I am thinking, feeling, or experiencing right now.

Is my time expired yet? Image

It’s funny because I got out a timer so I could time myself reading this post. I don’t know if that makes me crazy, compulsive, or just particular. Whatever I am though, I plan on keep being just that. And that is really the essence of what this is all about. Take it or leave it, it is I.

So are you ready? I am. Come back sometime and check out what has been going on in my life. It just might be the best two minutes of your day.

P.S. You will have to read a future post to find out about any of the above mentioned items! =-)
