Lent, pt. 33

I had a cool conversation today.

While getting my phone updated, I was chatting with the employee.

cellphones

He and I hit it off.

And then the conversation went deep.

We discussed topics ranging from death to God’s sovereignty to parenting.

But it was also a great time! I felt like God orchestrated the whole thing.

We both agreed that at the end of the day, God is God.

Things happen in life that may confuse us. We don’t always know why.

But God is God.

Another thing we agreed on is that God does not need to be questioned.

He is God and we are not. Trust that fact.

God is God.

So next time you get your phone updated, stand in line at a store, or wait for your coffee, God may have an encounter designed for you.

Maybe, just maybe, it could be just what you (or the other person) needs.

Lent, pt. 32

Who am I?

What is my identity?

Christ living in me is who I really am.

I am not defined by…

clothes.

jobs.

relationships.

dollars.

jokes.

appearances.

My life is found only in Jesus.

These thoughts of identity have been circling in my mind all day.

Jesus is my identity.

Who are you?

Lent, pt. 30

Today was normal. As in nothing out of the ordinary took place.

At least that I could see.

I am almost finished with a book entitled, Edge of Eternity by Randy Alcorn.

edge of eternity

A man wakes up in a different world. He is on a journey. Along this journey, he meets various other travelers. There are also moments in which he see into the spirit world.

This spirit world never sleeps. There are battles raging at all times.

However, these battles are fought over souls, not silver.

Over people’s’ souls, not precious gems.

Despite being a fiction novel, there are biblical truths hidden in the words.

Even though today was normal, there was an unseen fight taking place.

These invisible conflicts happen simultaneously as we live our lives.

Even our choices can affect the tide of battle.

Every time I open my bible, the heavenlies are affected.

Whenever I pray, the angelic forces are bolstered.

I can change eternity.

So can you.

We are 3/4 finished with Lent. Stay strong my friend.

spiritual war

I leave you with this thought:

Everything you do, not only affects you, but those, seen and unseen, around you.

Lent, pt.29

“Amazing grace how sweet the sound…”

I think everyone knows that song.

It is a sweet sound when I think about how God saved me. His grace is powerful!

The first post in this mini-series was posted yesterday.

That post dealt with stopping grace.

This post, will, hopefully, shed light on God’s saving grace.

Ephesians 2:8-9 mentions grace. God’s saving grace.

God’s grace is the only thing that can save us. The only thing.

Nothing we do or say will accomplish anything regarding our salvation.

If we are drowning in the ocean, God’s stopping grace is like the life-preserver being thrown out to us. We grab hold and stop sinking. But have not been rescued yet.

round life preserver

His saving grace is when someone pulls the rope and drags us onto the boat. We were too tired and exhausted to get into the boat ourselves.

Are you in need of a rescue? God’s grace is only one word away!

Tomorrow, there will be one more post about grace. This grace is only given to those who have received the first two types.

Take time, if you have not already, and enjoy God’s stopping grace and saving grace.

And then brace yourself for God’s strengthening grace.
